Dementia Strategy and Dementia Companions in Shropshire

In Shropshire, working with people with dementia led to the introduction of a new role, the ‘Dementia Companions’, who help with personalised care planning.

Safe Ageing No Discrimination

Embracing a Culture of Inclusion in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin

SAND is a community organisation whose goal is to improve the experiences and increase the expectations of LGBT+ people as they age in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

We believe that if we can:

  1. Identify and address the barriers that impact on LGBT+  wellbeing in later life
  2. Bring about change in organisations’ working practice
  3. Tap into influential policy making channels

Then we can fundamentally influence the way in which LGBT+ people and those who care for them experience – and expect to experience – ageing.
